Who am I ?

Michael “Mike” Padjen, raised in Midvale, Utah, embarked on an engineering career after graduating from the University of Utah. His professional and personal journey has taken him to every state in the United States and to more than forty countries across five continents.

In 2017, Mike faced a profound health challenge when he was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma. This aggressive condition led to severe collapses of ten vertebrae, three fractured ribs, and significant damage elsewhere in his body. He continues to navigate the daily repercussions of this arduous battle. Despite the difficulties, the unwavering support of loved ones was a profound source of strength as Mike reclaimed his life, fostering creative pursuits that might otherwise have remained unrealized.

Mike’s first foray into writing was blogging for the blood cancer community (over 60 blogs in total). A close childhood friend appreciated his writing enough to ask him to co-write a novel, which became the novel “Untruthful Speech.”

Since then, he has written three additional books and three screenplays. He looks forward to working on sequels to “Untruthful Speech “and “The Liminal.”

Outside of writing, Mike now embraces his mostly retired life, golf, and staying active. He indulges his passion for exploring new global destinations for story research and personal enjoyment. However, his greatest joy remains time spent with his family, particularly his two beloved granddaughters, Carsyn and Sonora. He actively advocates for cancer patients and guides those newly diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma. Mike resides in North Carolina with his wife of forty-six years, Sue.
